……I find much to admire in America’s history of crusading journalists, from the pamphleteers to the muckrakers to the New Journalism of the ’60s to the best of today’s activist bloggers. At their best, their fortitude and passion have stimulated genuine reforms (often, as in the Progressive Era, thanks to the journalists’ “political relationships with governments”). Quoted from New York Times, October 27, 2013 by Bill Keller “Is Glenn Greenwald the Future of News?”
A community of diverse individuals living “way out in the middle of nowhere” by their own choice necessarily produces residents who are always hungry for social interaction, gatherings, music, poetry, lectures and other meetings. While the local coffee shop (the Burr Trail Outpost) is a truly amazing place for locals and visitors alike to gather and discuss everything from politics to quantum physics, a regularly published and updated itinerary of events and news serves to help keep people in the loop.
